Love your music, as a soldier I have carried your voice every where with me. Thats right from the deserts of iraq and then some. You should come to Whiteman Air Force Base and sing to us military folks. I will meet you at the gate and we can head down to the lake and do an inpromptu concert. What do you say, Just an idea, keeps everyone on their toes.

Mr. Haggard you have played and wrote the music that has shaped my life. Sir you have taught me how to love, how to forget, but also how to remember. I will always be in your dept for that. I can’t say I’m your greatest fan, but I can so your music is my favorite memory of all. I’m working hard to be front row and center for your Stafford Center show on March 21,2013. With a little help from above I hope to shake your hand. God Bless you and your family.

    Best Regards

I’ve been listening to your songs for 40 years! You are one of the living legends and your music tells all sorts of stories but at the end they all tells stories of the heart! Going to see you in Bathurst New Brunswick, wishing my Dad was joining me as he was a huge fan!
Thanks Merle for all the great songs and strength we find in your music!

Just wanted to say thank you for a lifetime of music from the soul. My son is taking me to your concert 2/8/13. Welcome to Florida! This will be the third concert for me. I saw you many years ago in Seattle (I can still see you playing the fiddle and singing Cherokee Maiden) and in the 90′s in Tacoma. My late husbands favorite was always “Today I started loving you again” and “Heralds Super Service”. Me, well they are all my favorites. Wishing you continued good health and happiness.

Everyday I turn on the radio and everyday I wish they had an ounce of what Merle Haggard has given to country music. Its not even close. The game has changed. When you hear Merle, Willie, Waylon, George Jones, Conway, and Vern Gosdin, you knew who it was, even if you didnt know the song….yet. Today, they all sound the same and I have no idea who they are, or what they sing……Merle has never sold who he is for the sake of selling records to a 16 yr old girl.

My grandpa wore the same hat as Merle….

God Bless Merle Haggard and God Bless the direction of country music.

Hi Merle, My husband has admired you since before I knew him and we are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary by going to see you in Gainesville on 2/9. You see, he has Altzheimer’s Disease. Like Glen Campbell, singing calms his soul. He still knows his music. So guess whose songs I know by heart. Yes, yours, and the others too. Being an old rock and roller, I’ve come to appreciate your words and songs over the years. Thanks for all you’ve done. Like George Jones sings, “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes?” You old country guys are great. Looking forward to seeing your show.

Merle , its so nice to read your testimony of gods healing power in your life. I was a pastor preacher for 15 years , played country gospel music , sang and preached to people. People thought I sounded like u . I guess when u listen to someones voice long enough u start to sound like them , ha ha. But Merle I want to tell u that I found something in your music that put me in touch with people and the real world. No surprise to me to see that u recognize gods presence in your life. God bless you and your family. Hope to see you soon in concert again soon maybe in florida in feb.

Merle, I know a girl who’s name is Char (as in charcoal). Her mother told her out came from one of your songs. Can anyone help us with what song it came from? I’ve been a fan of your through your entire career. You are what country music is all about.

It’s probably from “The Girl Turnrd Ripe”, which has the lyrics: “We got a little doll with big brown eyes that we call Charmarie
And there’s a great long line of pickers waitin’ to talk to me
About the sweet little gal of mine that we call Charmarie.”.

Love ur music Mr.Haggard! You are coming to the EastCoast of Canada this spring.I live in Nova Scotia and will be going for sure. I have a question-do you bring your own opening acts?My son is a singer songwriter -I wish you could hear his music. It is very hard to break thru here on the EastCoast especially if you are original. You can check his music out at Raspyvoice.com.I know u would like it-he writes all his own music and lyrics. He would be a perfect opening act for ur Halifax Nova Scotia show! Excuse me for being so bold but he needs a break to get his music out there and as aproud mother I just wanted to send my thoughts along.Keep up the great sound and I will b in the crowd at the Haifax show!Thank-you.

You are the one man in Country Music that mesmerized me so many times through your music. I saw you in concert in Tulsa, Ok. The timing and I’m guessing was the mid-seventies. What a great show and will never forget it. I still listen to your music and brings back so many memories. Keep on keeping on. <3

Hi there, I come from a family of 11, 5 sisters and 3 brothers plus mum and dad. We all grew up with your music plus other legends, Jim Reeve’s, Marty Robin’s and many more. Most of us learnt to play guitar at very young age’s so there were a lot of fights over 1 guitar as you could imagine. Anyway I’ll get to the point. I found a video clip of you sing “Sing Me Back Home” in a concert that says 2009. Is it at all possible to purchase a dvd of this concert? I would dearly love to get it for my brother who has been ill for quite a while with that “C” word! He used to be in and out of prisons when he was younger but his health has gradually slowed him up. However his music is somthing that keeps him going as with us all:) I do hope you can help me bring my brother some joy here in NZ. Many thanks, Natalie

God Bless You and Yours Merle. You’re the best. Me and a couple buddies think the world of you and go to see you every time you are at the Anaheim Grove. Looking forward to your up-comming date, 4/11. We’ll be sittin up front, center, like always. Sure would like to see you include Theresa in one of your songs. What a sweet, cute voice! We Love You Man……as a footnote I would like to say I grew up in Whittier, down the road from that POS Fred C. Nellis. As a young child, my neighbor, a minister, took me there to play Gospel music on my accordian for the boys down there. Imagine! Sometimes I wonder if you were one of the boys sitting out there listening. I remember what a nasty place that it was and how it made me feel. I’m sorry you lost your Daddy at such a young age and had to endure that. Thanks for being!!!!

Before the oppertunity is lost, I just wanted to say “Thank you Merle” for providing a very memorable part of the soundtrack of my life! Having grown up in the mountains and high plains of northern New Mexico, your music just fit the landscape so well it seemed like I could just hear in the back of my mind, any one of your songs as I headed down a dusty road, or watched a Santa Fe highball freight roll by, or stopped into to any Cafe or Honky Tonk where people gathered along ‘ol Route 66. I’ve seen you at rodeos, state fairs and arenas 4 times over the years, and each time I knew I was watching the artistry of a true American who speaks his mind like a man. I can almost shed a tear for the way America has turned away and forgottten a lot of who we are and what made us great in this era of strange politics and wrong-full thinking. As long as you and your music is around (and a few others like you), I can still take comfort knowing the America and the faith filled people I know and love, will have a troubadour to sing the songs of our hearts…Your buddy, Joe K.

What a great sale at the HAG’s store, I think I finally own just about everything I wanted..50% off I was able to get everything with the exception of the one sticket I really wanted, but hoping it will be back in stock soon. I”m looking for tickets for the show in Bakersfield, I have been chasing this man, all over a few states but never seen him in my own back yard. Bakersfield is a dream and I have been good money for seat several different times, however on I just seen on ebay someone selling 3 tickets for over 650, I was hoping it came with more then just the seats…maybe battery operated..Just kidding :)

Where is the best place to purchase the tickets.

Hey there from West Texas! I’ve been a fan since the early 70′s, when I used to play or sing “Mama Tried” to get my middle child to drift off to sleep. That was his “lullaby” song, and I have to say that he showed great taste in music at a very early age! I was just listening to “Sing A Sad Song”, and it makes me feel like crying when I listen to it, but not because I’m sad about something. It’s just because it’s so beautiful to listen to! I hope you all are well this new year, and I’m counting the days until you come our way, and I can see everyone in person for the first time!

Well the truth is I never wrote a fan letter before ..well maybe there was one in the early 50 s to Roy Rogers or probably it was more likely to Pat Brady ..or nellibell..but here I am writing one at 66 years old ..I live in NJ now grew up in Brooklyn ny ..was a orphan at 6 years old ..was lucky enough to meet a girl who became the woman I married and we still are..Jesus and my wife brought me this far…and your songs thought me a great deal about life and it’s strengths and challenges..just want you to know to this day when I hear you sing “big city” and many others as I listen I realize how much your music has taught me and gave me a better outlook than many of the people that I rub shoulders with on a daily basis in this world of new jersey…thanks Merle and God Bless you

I really need to take this temp job, but I missed you last time and swore that I’d see you again if you ever came back. Dear Mr. Haggard,
God blessed you with an amazing musical gift of talent. I saw you perform for the first time in 1971. I saw you at the Nugget in 2011. Very pleased to see your most recent performance of I Was A Stranger on You Tube. Your performances have always brought joy to my heart. Are there any new projects with Jimmie Rodgers or Lefty Frizzell material coming down the road in the not so distant future? Peace, love and good health to you and your amazing band, The Strangers.

I live in Southern Oregon, Central Point to be almost exact. How long have I been a fan? From the first time I ever saw and heard you on Cousin Herb’s Tradin’ Post, out of Bakersfield during the 50′s. Over the years, I have followed you and your career, and your life and your loves through your books and your songs. I have attended many of performances, from large auditoriums to small, smokey bars.

When I saw that you would be giving a concert at the Cascade Theater in Redding, I told my husband how important it was to me and we got our tickets. Unfortunately, the weather has played the trump card and we have decided it would be too risky trying to get over “the hill” (Siskiyou Summit).

So, we will not be there tonight in seats BB-102 and BB-103, but I will be thinking about you. No one sings a song like you, Merle. Best wishes, old friend.
