Knock ‘em out MR. HAG!!!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY.MERLE GOD BLESS
Wishing you a wonderful birthday Merle. Keep on singing and strumming…we never get tired of listening to your music. You’re such a classic.
Wow, I love it that I get to wish you a Happy Birthday !! I am the baby of 12 children and an Atlanta, Ga. native. My family raised me on country music. I have a brother that probably has every album that you ever released. When my family had any kind of “get-together”, there was always plenty of Merle Haggard songs that we sang. My favorite that my above mentioned brother always sang for me was; I’m always on a mountain when I fall. I grew up on traditional “Real Country Music” and here are big birthday wishes for “Real Country Music Singer” !!
Happy Birthday Merle. Great to see you better and still kicking out the footlights. I make sure I do a few of your songs every show I perform. Your one of the last real country Legends still here performing. I opened for you and George Jones in upstate N.y. at the New York Country Music Hall of Fame and other artist like late Johnny Paycheck, Billy Walker at different times. I caught your show in Batesville Ar. when I was living there. Met your boy Marty in Ar. also. Your music like late Johnny Cash was for the working man and America. God will you’ll still have many yrs. to perform for us here on earth , because your music like Elvis’s will never die. Happy Birthday Hag.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MERLE I,VE BEEN A FAN FROM THE FIRST SONG I EVER HERD BY YOU,AND THAT WAS A LONG TIME AGO…BACK IN THE 60S I THINK…….
Had the pleasure of working with Merle while doing promotion with both Capitol and MCA, He was always the total package, great singer, great writer, and great intertainer. Not to mention a great guy. My hats off to you Hag. Regards
Happy Birthday to the best singer that ever lived. And yes we named our son after you. And he does some amazing Merle songs as well.
Helen Holmes says you have a birthday coming up and I should wish you a happy. Hope you do have a great one. Best wishes.
Hey, Hag…

Just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday, as I am fortunate enough to share that day with you, just a scant quarter of a century younger. Still remember you “filling in” for Johnny Paycheck at the Petaluma Fairgrounds many moons ago…to coin a “Dances with Wolves” phrase, it was a good trade
Hope you enjoy your birthday, god bless, and many, many more
Carl
I just found out you will be in Nashville. My father and I have been to several of your concerts and we love your shows. Dad and I started listing to you when I was probably seven years old around 1970 I rode in the truck he drove to deliver mail we got your eight track tape and listen to it all the way
Well we can’t see you at the Ryman again because it’s sold out so If you have some time while your in Nashville stop by my house I’ll throw some steaks on the grill and we always have some ice cold beer
Dad would get a big kick out of that I think you and him are the same age and we are two of your biggest fans
PS..
I never travel in a hurry because Ive got my Harley with me all the time
PSS
I take a lot of pride in what I am
I was a kid in the 70′s listing to you at Lake Shasta in a small cove. My grandparents had a cabin in the same cove as your cabin. We were to the left side of the cove just in case you remember. My grandpa whould take me fishing off you boat dock ( he told me that’s we’re the fish where ). We would go out on the lake skiing and I whould play you 8 trak tape over and over driving my pops crazy he told me I was only 7 years old then. Whould like to meet you someday to talk about my Lake Shasta memories. Still love your music today. Thank you for all the great lake times on the boat.
I forgot to mention my favorite song, A friend in California. I would also like to thank the Strangers for contributing so much to the beauty of your songs. Joe
Merle, thank you for your 2004 concert at Billy Bob’s in Ft Worth, TX. I enjoyed hearing all of your songs – I’ve been a fan for more than 50 yrs – once saw you in person up here in the NW – Winthrop, WA at Tice Ranch. You still have “IT” and it was evident on tonight’s TV show. My daughter Debra will be 50 on April 6th & she is hoping to see you live in Amarillo, TX this yr. Thanks again, Jani Glover, Omak, WA

Hi Merle just want to wish you a very happy birthday for the 6th April. How will you celebrate it? Lots of friends and families. My son was in Nashille a couple of weeks ago meeting Scottie Moore and Duane Eddy and Steve cropper to get the guitar signed for charity to be auctiioned in the not too distant future for comic relief.(He is am ambassador for Comic Relief) Un fortunately he was not in Nashville when you were going to be there. You are there 11th April. I was hoping he could have met up with you to sign the guitar that would heve been a huge investment for the auction with your name on it . Have a super birthday I would love to shake your hand and kiss you cheek. I can make believe tho’ take care luv you lots xxxx
Merle ,i love all of your songs.[Mama Tried and Branded Man being my favorites. Was reading your tours and just wanted to say, don’t overdo it.Hope you continue to stay cancer free.I keep a check on you every month or so,as i am sure you know how blessed you are and i hope you remain so.Lost my baby brother to it in 2006.Just take care of yourself.
The best country music ever written and performed, and Merle getting even better over the years!. Unfurtunately I am far away from the US so I must settle with the performances on youtube instead.
Mr. Haggard,
I grew up in Bakersfield and I was wondering if you remember my dad, John Bozoky? He owned the Specialty Trim & Awning Co. and he made quite a few boat covers for you over the years. He showed me many of them and they were beautiful! I remember him telling me so many stories about you and he talked highly of you. He died 7 years ago and I have remembered those stories. Quite interesting, I must say! Anyway, just wanted tell you that you that because of my dad, you are a favorite of mine too. God Bless you!
death is part of living but the hardest part of all
cause all that’s left of loved ones are the memories you recall

Who wrote the song “Someday He’ll Whisper My Name” ? It is the best song I’ve heard in my 84 years.
RIP Libby Roberts. I was saddend to hear today that Merle’s longtime Friend and Fan club Pres. Ms. Libby Roberts went home to be with her lord and Saviour. Libby was the best! She was always a sweet and caring soul and she loved Merle and his fans!!!!!! Rest easy Libby.
My thoughts exactly, R. I. P. Miss Libby, I’m gonna miss you, you were the best!!!!!!!
Upon the passing of Merle’s Fan Club President, Libby Roberts, I wanted to express what a wonderful president she was and one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She knew I loved her and she would often say, “I wish I could see you just one more time!” I’m looking forward to seeing you again in heaven, Libby.
Love, Joyce (in Tucson)
Our deepest sympathy on the passing of Libby Roberts..the long time president of Merle Haggard Fan club….she will be greatly missed
hey mr .haggard, will you put Indonesia into the concert schedule ?
viva la countries !
Merle,
Looking forward seeing you on 4/12/12 and thanks for signing my guitar I have played for 39 yrs. in 08. Janice and I are (21) time GRAMMY contenders. Been a fan beging in 1968 and will always be a fan. I also was totaly healed of cancer in Jan. of 2012 and will live to sing and preach another day. God bless and remember “Mama Tried” and it worked. Later
I have been a Merle fan from the first time I heard the Hag. There is no favorite, but some of his songs take me back home. I am trying to get tickets for Merle’s show in Annapolis, MD. I have never seen him before, this may be my last chance with working every weekend. Monday I am off and this is my shot. Merle thanks for all you have done for me, you are country.
Merle, Saw your concert in Seattle (1979), have about 90% of your music, missed your recent performance at Marksville, LA , planning to make it soon to see you again!
Merle, you’re the greatest, I have followed your music since 1970 when I was 20 years old.
I hope you come back to the Alabama theater at North Myrtle Beach this year.
Take care Merle & God Bless you and your family.
Hi Merle, cannot wait for the concert in March. We have tickets for Friday.Would love to hear Footlights.Hope all is well with you and your family. We adore you Merle!
You’ve been my favorite for five decades. My wife and I attended your concert in the Hollywood Bowl … the first ever country performance in that venue. My favorite song is “Daddy Frank” but it mystifies me. Who told you this story? Was it your dad about the Harps? It’s too detailed and emotional to be fictional.
Mr. Haggard we had tickets to see you a couple of years ago at Hoosier Park Casino unfortunately you were ill and the concert was cancelled. My husband said his life long dream was to hear you in person so we are driving from Indiana to Nashville to see you at the Rhyman Theater can’t wait to make his dream come true. See you in April.
Hag, you are loved in Arizona but you never perform here.
Very disappointing. We have a beautiful state with many appropriate venues including casinos that would love to have you perform. How about it?
Thanks
PS, nothing against a place like Sparks Nevada, but Phoenix and Tucson Arizona would create a larger draw. When you perform in Las Vegas, swinging down to Phoenix is a relatively short drive drive.
Hope to see you.
I love your tesimony. Our God is and awesome God. He can heal the sick he can make the lame walk and the blind to see, Praise our God!! May God keep you safe and protected through your life.
been a fan since 1968.got every album merle has recorded.i was listening to the new vince gill cd “guitar slinger’.ONE SONG SOUNDED VERY MUCH LIKE” OKIE FROM MUSKOGIE”.I WONDER IF VINCE GOT PERMISSION TO USE THIS.
Mr. Haggard, I have always been a fan as far back as I remember hearing your first song on the radio, My favorite is Sing Me Back Home. My brother is a big fan of yours and told me he met you and became friends. I have never had the chance to see you in concert, but have your songs on tape, or CD. I wish you the best of luck and good health to you. God bless you.
Merle, Your music has been with me in every time zone on this planet. I grew up in California, did the roustabout thing in Taft/McKittrick and went on to the Naval Academy. I have served 30 years in the U.S Navy’s Submarine Force and I am really looking forward to your concert at Maryland Hall — I am now retired from the Navy. I started listening to you on 1968 and it is a toss up on my favorites — Mama Tried is probably right up there. I have not heard you in a live concert since 1995 — A small venue in Omaha, NE. My wife, a Jersey Girl, provided the tickets for my 40th birthday. Godspeed and the best on your tour.
If the timing works out, my son Tyler will join us — he will have returned that same day from a tour of duty with the Marine Corps in Afganistan. He knows all about you.
Hass
Merle, my father taught me your music growing up. He passed in Aug. Cant wait to see you in the NW again. Seattle loves you.
Merle, I’ve seen you in concert and I am still amazed. I love old country ballads. You have surely brought enjoyment to many country fans. God Bless you.
Bill
Dear Merle, I am turning 60 in a few months and at this stage of the game, not sure how much longer I will be on earth. I am in good health, but you never know when the good Lord says ‘your time is up’. I wanted to tell you how much your music has touched my life. Helping me get thru good times, bad times and sitting in my back yard and enjoying listening to you sing. I was blessed to see you on my 30th birthday in Dallas, TX at the Debonaire Ballroom. I have always said, that if I ever get rich, one of my dreams would be to hire you and the band to play at one of our party’s. I hope to see you in concert soon. Take care and know I have truly enjoyed your music.
Mr. Haggard, I’ve listened to your music since I was in the womb. I have loved your songs and learned to sing the melodies and the harmonies during my growing up years. I moved to Nashville in Feb. 2005. Played and sang with all the best on Lower Broad. Missed you singing a few times because I was cocktailing at Robert’s, when you were playing at Wolfies across the street. I was blessed to sing with Bonnie Owens at the Suttler in Nashville, in May of 1999. I sang “Somewhere Between” with her, and It was a thrill to sing that song with the woman that sang that amazing harmony behind you. I’ve been blessed enough to sing and play with Kraig Hutchens, Tracy Barton, Red Volkart, Abe & Joe Manuel. Sang on Pete Ford’s C.D. (which I’m not real proud of.) But my dream is to sing with you!
My wife and I also attended the show at Folsom. Amazing. I couldn’t believe my luck when the tickets went on sale and didn’t sell out instantly (poor marketing by Three Stages?). We snagged front row seats. I kick myself now that we didn’t buy tickets to both shows, because as we were leaving, my wife, who had never seen a country music concert before, asked if we could go back the next night! But by then, it was sold out completely. Amazing performance by a true legend! Thank-you Merle!
